Bringing arts and crafts to your local neighbourhood
Deepwell Arts in Leicester has entered into a collaboration with Armonia Music Tuition and Creative Space, a well established creative venue at Martyrs Church Hall in the heart of the West End of Leicester. Deepwell Arts aims to bring new life to the area with a mix of arts and crafts workshops, drop-in sessions, occasional events and open studio times. Contact me directly to book a special event – a pottery party or similar, for instance making clay animals, painting tiles or ceramic vases – or an individual or small group pottery session.
We have plans to host exhibitions and evening talks. Please do get in touch if you want to discuss an event or workshop you would be interested in offering under the banner of Deepwell Arts.

Pottery with Frances
Have fun making something in clay, maybe a pot or vase, or building a small model of your favourite animal in beautiful terracotta clay – is it a bird? a dog? a cat? a sheep?

Pottery Six
Tuesday evenings from 10th September 2024 to 15th October 2024
6.30-8.30 pm
Come and spend six Tuesday evenings in the company of adults working with clay learning simple techniques in hand-building to produce your own work.
Beginners and more experienced potters are welcome. Individual evenings may be available – please email [email protected]

Sea Glass Creative Workshop

Tumbled, broken and washed up by the sea, glass and pottery will be key elements in creating your own beautiful piece of framed art, with the addition of watercolours – led by Karen from ShoreThingsbyKaren.

Painting Architecture

Using charcoal, ink and pastels, Naomi Hewson will show how to build tone and shadow, how to create texture and how you can make exciting drawings from images of buildings from all over the world and Leicester City itself.

Getting started with Linoprinting

This friendly session will enable you to prepare and print your own designs in lino with expert tuition from print-maker Jo Shearer. Designed for beginners, this workshop will also inspire more experienced attendees.

Throwing on the Wheel – a Pottery Essential

This is your chance to spend a couple of hours with Frances but not at our usual venue. We will meet at The Clay Room in centre of Leicester.
You will learn the basics of how to throw a pot and have plenty of individual practice on a wheel.

Mixed Media – Still Life

A creative and experimental class with Naomi Hewson. You will experiment with techniques, including printing, resist and sgraffito to create beautiful, playful, still life images.
