Bringing arts and crafts to your local neighbourhood
Deepwell Arts in Leicester collaborates with Armonia Music Tuition and Creative Space, a well established creative venue at Martyrs Church Hall in the heart of the West End of Leicester. Deepwell Arts aims to bring new life to the area with a mix of arts and crafts workshops, drop-in sessions, occasional events and open studio times.
We have plans to host exhibitions and evening talks. Please do get in touch if you want to discuss an event or workshop you would be interested in offering under the banner of Deepwell Arts.

Clay Night
Fortnightly on Thursdays – next date 24th October;
Come and join Frances in the studio for some social pottery, and to experiment with hand-building using a variety of clays, slips, underglazes and glazes. You will be able to develop your projects over a series of weeks, and your items will be safely stored in-between sessions.
£15 (concession £10) per session, with additional fees for firing and glazing.
Pottery Six
Tuesday evenings from 10th September 2024 to 15th October 2024
6.30-8.30 pm
Come and spend six Tuesday evenings in the company of adults working with clay learning simple techniques in hand-building to produce your own work.
Beginners and more experienced potters are welcome. Individual evenings are available at £20 (£15) per session.
£100 (concession £75) for all six sessions, including materials and firing.
Sea Glass Creative Workshop
6.30-8.30 pm
Tumbled, broken and washed up by the sea, glass and pottery will be key elements in creating your own beautiful piece of framed art, with the addition of watercolours – led by Karen from ShoreThingsbyKaren.

Silver Clay Charm
Join us for a fabulous Precious Metal Silver Clay – Charm Taster Workshop. You will make ONE charm with Precious Metal Silver Clay, from start to finish. You’ll learn how to handle, roll, shape and texture the silver clay, before drying and refining. Your charm will be ready to take home with you at the end of the workshop!

Collagraphy: Tapes and Texture Printmaking
2-5pm
Collagraphy is a relief method of printing which produces exciting prints from surface textures. This friendly session will enable you to prepare and print your own designs with expert tuition from print-maker Jo Shearer. Designed for beginners, this workshop will also inspire more experienced attendees. Adults and teens welcome.

Mixed Media – Still Life

A creative and experimental class with Naomi Hewson. You will experiment with techniques, including printing, resist and sgraffito to create beautiful, playful, still life images.

Throwing on the Wheel
6-8 pm
This is your chance to spend a couple of hours with Frances but not at our usual venue. We will meet at The Clay Room in centre of Leicester.
You will learn the basics of how to throw a pot and have plenty of individual practice on a wheel.
